Hello my Friends and Family. By now you all know my Dad passed on of a heart attack, it was sudden and unexpected. We now have to come up with his final expenses; he didn't have life insurance. He and my Mom (who passed on 5 1/2 years ago) had to liquidate their assets in the 80's when my Mom became disabled. At the time the State considered life insurance an asset. We have found a nice, fairly inexpensive place for his services, but it is still really expensive. My Dad had an aggressive form of dementia called Lewy-Body Dementia and he needed 24/7 care. We had a caregiver who came in 15 hours a week so that left Me and my partner Ken to take care of him the rest of the time. I stayed home to love and care for him so he wouldn't have to go into a nursing home. I haven't worked in 3 years to do this, Ken has been paying all of the household expenses. My Dad was a devout Catholic, we are trying to honor his last wishes and give him the burial he deserves.
